The Nigeria Police Force has announced the commencement of the enforcement of the digitalized Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) for motor vehicle registration system. Many people are thought to have been trapped when a two-story residential building in Phase Two, Site Two, Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The structure, it was learned, collapsed approximately at 7 a.m on Saturday. As of the time of this report, the details of the incident are sketchy. An analysis of data on admissions for the 2022–2023 admission session in Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and other higher institutions of learning revealed that 88 institutions admitted students outside of JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System, also known as CAPS.  Admissions made outside of CAPS are considered illegal, null, and invalid by JAMB. In 2017, JAMB introduced the Central Admissions Processing System, which allows all tertiary institutions to upload the admission status of individuals awarded admission. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has blamed former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for the party’s Edo State chapter issue.  Since the governorship primary election on February 22, 2024, when Asue Ighodalo was elected governor, the Edo PDP has been plagued by internal strife. Former Manchester United defender and French national team captain, Patrice Evra, has been handed a suspended 12-month prison sentence after being found guilty of abandoning his wife and two children. The Nanterre prosecutor’s office acknowledged the verdict, as reported by Le Parisien. The court decided that he abandoned Sandra Evra and their children between May 1, 2021, and September 28, 2023. He is said to owe €969,000 (£813,640) in overdue alimony. Over 200 students of Saint Academy, Jos, Plateau State, are reportedly still trapped under the rubble of collapsed classrooms which collapsed while students were writing exams on Friday. The principal of the school, Mr. Daramola, disclosed this while speaking to the press at the scene of the incident.
