The Lagos Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja has sentenced Oluwafemi Asekeji, a 34-year-old businessman, to life in prison for sexually assaulting his 12-year-old daughter. Anamekwe Nwabuoku, a former acting Accountant-General of the Federation, pleaded with Justice James Omotoso of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday to give him more time to conclude the refund of the public funds looted by him and his co-defendant. A Ugandan TikTok user was sentenced to six years in prison on Wednesday for spreading “misleading and malicious” information after insulting President Yoweri Museveni, his wife, and their son.  According to authorities, between February and March, Edward Awebwa shared “vulgar” movies regarding the first family. The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested an 80-year-old man for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl in the Otuokpoti community in the state’s Ogbia Local Government Area.  Gender advocacy groups such as the Dise Ogbise Foundation, Reigneth Foundation, Starrz Safety Initiative, and Collins Cocodia Foundation reported that the suspect had been identified as a serial paedophile by community members.
