Nigerian content creator, Ademola Abiodun, also known as DJ Chicken, has sparked reactions on social media after changing his Instagram profile picture to that of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, a day after regaining his freedom.
DJ Chicken, who was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Tuesday after completing his bail conditions, posted a snapshot of Seyi Tinubu on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, captioned “Hmm ddddy”.
He also shared footage of Seyi Tinubu dancing at an occasion and one of Seyi with his wife.
He made the social media posts less than 24 hours after the content creator publicly thanked Seyi Tinubu for his release.
In a video announcing his release on Tuesday, DJ Chicken, accompanied by his lawyer, said, “I’m back oo, freedom at last.
“God bless the Nigerian government; God bless Seyi Tinubu and our president. I love you guys. It is not easy, my fans. People that are free don’t know what God has done for them. Freedom is good.”
Chronicle NG reports that DJ Chicken was released after fulfilling the bail conditions imposed by a magistrate court sitting in the Ogba area of Lagos State.
Omoyele Sowore, a human rights campaigner and publisher of Sahara Reporters, also announced his release on X, stating the content creator had been reunited with his family, friends, and loved ones.
DJ Chicken was sent to the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being charged with three counts of violating the Cybercrime Act, breaching the peace, and making alleged threats to kill Seyi.
The charges originated from a viral video in which he allegedly predicted that President Tinubu would not be re-elected in 2027 and was accused of threatening the president’s son.
Following widespread outrage, the video producer retracted the remarks, claiming they were meant as a joke to draw attention and increase his online notoriety.
Despite his apology, he was detained, charged, and granted N1 million bail with two sureties in equal amounts.
The lawsuit was adjourned until August 3, 2026.
