The Kano State House of Assembly passed a bill into law on Tuesday that would establish second-class Emirates in the state.  It should be noted that the House held the first reading of the measure before going on recess, which they resumed yesterday. A Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Amina Alibi on Monday, permanently barred Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero from claiming to be Kano’s emir.  The court also prohibited the ousted emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye from representing themselves as emirs. The Kano State government filed a suit against the five deposed emirs, which the judge ruled on.
