A suspected drug cartel lord accused of being responsible for the abduction of 43 college students a decade ago was caught in Mexico after being released from prison in 2019, police said Friday. The Edo State Government has declared an indefinite postponement of the resumption of all schools in the state due to the increase in fuel prices.  On Saturday, the administration revealed this in a memo signed by Ojo Akin-Longe, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, in Benin, the state capital. The Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa,iy has appointed 344 new aides, with less than ten weeks till the state’s governorship election on November 16.  According to a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniran, the appointments were part of ongoing efforts to improve governance and service delivery to the people of the state.
