Former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (retd) has paid a condolence visit to the family of former Nigerian President Musa ‘Yar’adua in Katsina, following the death of their matriarch, Hajiya Dada ‘Yar’adua.

The former Army Chief called the late Hajiya Dada the best mother anyone could ask for, with a “legacy of strength, humility, and dedication to her family and community that was remarkable.”

According to his assistant, Ibrahim Danfulani, in a statement issued in Kaduna on Saturday, the visit demonstrated General Buratai’s regard and admiration for the late Hajiya Dada and her family, as well as his dedication to honouring the legacy of a wonderful Nigerian matriarch.

Other dignitaries who paid Yar’adua a visit included former Army spokesman Brigadier General SK Usman (retd.), the Member representing Kurfi/Dutsin-Ma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Aminu Balele (Dan Arewa), and Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi, Alhaji Ibrahim Danfulani, among others.

Buratai advised the family to take comfort and pleasure in the profound impression she made on Nigerian history, stating that her influence would be greatly missed by those who knew her.

He prayed for Hajiya Dada’s soul to rest in peace and for God to continue blessing and protecting the family and the legacy she left behind.

Buratai, Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the Benin Republic, was greeted by Matawallen Katsina, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Abdulaziz Musa ‘Yar’adua, Alhaji Mustapha, and Major General Abubakar Adamu (retd.)

Yar’adua thanked General Buratai for his presence and good words, praising him as a true leader whose efforts to national development, peace, and security are invaluable.

The congressman also praised Buratai’s compassion and dedication to the well-being of troops and veterans, both during and after retirement.
