The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Ilela border command in Sokoto has detained Rukaya Hassan, 25, for attempting to traffic two minor girls across the border to the Niger Republic.  This was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Abdullahi. Palestinians have fled regions to the east of Gaza’s second city, Khan Younis, after Israel issued evacuation orders.  Witnesses reported multiple Israeli attacks in and around Khan Younis throughout the night and into the morning. According to medical sources and the Palestinian Red Crescent, eight people have been killed and more than 30 injured. Patients and medical workers have also been departing the European Gaza hospital in the region after the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza ordered them to leave. The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration, and Control (NAFDAC) has closed over 100 stores in Ogbete Main Market, Enugu, Enugu State, for allegedly trading in counterfeit alcoholic beverages.  The agency also seized a truckload of contaminated products and arrested four merchants. Following the raid and arrest, NAFDAC’s Director South-East Zone, Mr. Martins Iluyomade, stated on Monday that the suspects were already in prison and would be charged in court after an ongoing investigation. Admiral Alison Madueke, a former Chief of Naval Staff, has filed a plea in the Lagos State High Court, requesting a legal declaration to end his marriage to Diezani and that she stop using his last name.  He is seeking the court to order the former Minister of Petroleum Resources to return to her maiden name, Agama. The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, dismissed the fundamental rights suit filed by Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, against the Federal Government. The presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, dismissed the suit for lack of merit. However, Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimako, told reporters, “We will appeal.” The judge ruled that the IPOB commander failed to produce evidence to support his claim that the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation, the Department of State Services, and its Director General, all named as defendants, violated his fundamental rights. Dr. Omar Tourey, President of the Economic Community of West African States Commission, ECOWAS, stated on Monday that Mali, Burkina Faso, and the Niger Republic will suffer significant losses should they decide to pull out of the regional bloc. Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended four suspected fake Economic Financial Crimes Commission officers while planning to abduct and collect N150 million in ransom from their victims. The Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, paraded the suspects alongside other suspects at the command headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, on Monday. Twelve of the twenty-five students from Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo who had been charged with murder before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in the state capital of Oyo, Ibadan, were released on Monday. 25 pupils from the school were arraigned and charged with carelessness, murder, and conspiracy on June 5.
