The Kaduna Citizens Watch for Good Governance filed a formal petition with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) against former governor Nasir El-Rufai on Wednesday. The group requested that the anti-corruption bureau launch a quick investigation into El-Rufai in order to prosecute him for alleged N423 billion misappropriation. Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George accepted another managerial job at Nigeria Premier Football League side Rivers United, less than three weeks after resigning as the head coach of Nigeria’s men’s senior national team. A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered that Mrs. Tosin Olagunju, a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) official, be remanded in Suleja prison in Niger State for obtaining N12,400,000.00 from job seekers under false pretence with the promise that she can secure them employment.  Olagunju, who was charged with four counts of defrauding job seekers, pleaded not guilty after being given the charges. The Lagos State Police Command has ordered the prosecution of an entire team of police officers seen in a viral video assaulting a suspect who was resisting arrest. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned against planned protests against the anti-graft agency by “a shadowy group.” The EFCC issued the warning in a statement signed by Dele Oyewale, Head, Media and Publicity of the Commission, on Wednesday. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old robbery suspect, Amos Daniel, who stole his employer’s vehicle on the same day he was hired as a driver. The Rivers State Police Command announced that its operatives have arrested the commander of a local vigilante group identified as Felix Nwaobakata. The police, in a clampdown on the excesses of vigilante groups operating in the state, had arrested seven other members of the local security outfit for various crimes, including murder.
