One person was killed and five others sustained gunshot wounds in northeastern France when several masked gunmen opened fire at a wedding ceremony, police sources said on Sunday. According to sources, the incident in the northeastern city of Thionville was the result of a drug trafficking dispute. Suspected gunmen laid siege to the Warri-Sapele highway in Delta State on Friday, robbing travellers indiscriminately of money and valuables. It was gathered that the gunmen operated on the road between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.., during which some travellers were injured and their belongings forcefully collected. One person was killed in an accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos on Saturday morning.  The collision included a small truck (MUS 489 XS) and a Toyota Camry (KRD 470 JD). “Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by excessive speeding during a downpour this morning,” the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said in a statement. Ten women have filed sexual assault allegations against Canadian auto parts mogul Frank Stronach, according to court documents unsealed Friday.  The 91-year-old was arrested twice in recent weeks and faces 13 criminal charges, including attempted rape, sexual assault, indecent assault, and forcible imprisonment. Both times, including Wednesday, Stronach was released the same day with conditions ahead of his first court appearance on July 8. The court documents contain claims of attempted rape and assault dating back to June 1977 in Toronto. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have opposed the Southern Governors’ Forum’s proposal to decentralise minimum wage discussions to states.  The NLC slammed the idea as “unfriendly and anti-worker,” stressing that enabling states to set their own minimum salaries would be damaging to workers’ wellbeing.
