A grieving mother has lamented over the deaths of her two children in the Saint Academy School building collapse in Jos Plateau State. The school building collapsed on July 20, 2024, killing 22 students and injuring 132 others. The officers of the Borno State Police Command have arrested a 40-year-old woman, Lydia Aji, for killing her husband with an axe in Borno State. According to the state commissioner of police, Yusufu Lawal, who was represented by the state police public relations officer, Nahum Kenneth, the suspect argued with her deceased husband about their 13-year-old daughter Rachael’s suspected theft of a goat. No fewer than 1,284 suspects have been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force in various operations across the country over the past six weeks.  The arrests included 307 armed robbery suspects, 296 kidnapping suspects, 176 rape and defilement suspects, 301 homicide suspects, and 204 suspected cults. This was revealed by Force Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi on Friday, during a parade of suspects arrested for various offences.
