Nigerian Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has described former US President Donald Trump as “a menace, a consummate liar, and a danger to the world.”

Soyinka made the remarks in an interview with TheNews to mark his 90th birthday.

According to the renowned poet, he mentioned that the ex-US president is not as clever as he thought he was.

However, he mentioned that the Republican Party presidential candidate has studied the “American psyche” to get voters on his side.

“But he did one thing. He studied and understood the American psyche, and he knew the right chord to tweak in order to get them on his side and to get them to believe anything that he said.

“I don’t think the world has ever known such a consummate liar like Donald Trump,” he said.

The award-winning author also mentioned that Nigeria also has a lying politician who he described as a “copycat” of the former US leader.

“We have had one here also, but he is just a copycat beside Donald Trump. If you want to find out what is going on, look at all the many lies of this fellow called Trump. So many lies.”

“So, let’s move on but Donald Trump is a menace; he is a danger to the world. I mean it. It is not just for America. He is a danger to the world,” Soyinka stated.
