The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has insisted that a Lagos businessman, Fidelis Umukoro, facing trial in an alleged N164 million fraud , diverted funds from A& P Foods Limited to other companies without being lawfully authorised to do so. Counsel to the EFCC, T. J. Google on Tuesday said that 60 eligible black-founded start-ups would receive a total of four million dollars in the second cohort of Google for Start-up Black Founders Fund (BFF). At least four people have been killed and a shop destroyed in an explosion near a primary school in the northern Nigerian city of Kano, police say. An investigation is under way police say, but initial reports indicate it was caused by a gas cylinder from a welding shop, which rules out an attack. Soon after the explosion, emergency services and security forces rushed to the scene in Sabon Gari neighbourhood. A bomb explosion near Monday Market in Maiduguri, Borno State, and a security post at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital have resulted in the deaths of an unspecified number of people.

Many are feared dead after an explosion rocked Aba Road, Sabon Gari area of the ancient city of Kano state on Tuesday morning. Videos on social media show that many are injured from the blast. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Monday, paraded three suspects in connection with the murder of a female member of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Stephanie Terungwa.
