Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed has suspended the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, after he was arrested for fraud. The Force Intelligence Bureau Special Tactical Squad (FIB-STS) operatives have arrested 29 deadly kidnappers and others in major operations in northern part of Nigeria. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 secured the conviction of seventeen internet fraudsters before Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court 1, Enugu, Enugu State. A Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has convicted and sentenced an undergraduate of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Gbadamosi Joseph Adebayo to six months imprisonment for internet fraud. In the same vein, three other internet fraudsters: Tijani Wasiu Oluwakemi, Olunlade Quadri Olamilekan and Olaogun Segun Damilola were also convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by various courts for their involvement in internet fraud. The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday rescheduled its presidential primary elections to May 29 and 30. The adjustments were made at the end of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting. Felix Morka, the national publicity secretary of APC announced the adjustments during a press briefing in Abuja. “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, 18th of May, 2022, approved an adjusted timetable/schedule of activities,” he said in a press statement. A knight of Catholic Church, Sir Basil Okafor and his cousin, Edwin Okwuchukwu Izuchukwu, were on Wednesday docked by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), before a Lagos Federal High Court, on charges bordering on conspiracy, unlawful possession of 2. 169 kilograms of heroin. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state on Wednesday announced a total ban on commercial motorcycles (Okada) in six local government areas of the state.
