The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the election of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 18 election. The petition was submitted by former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and was dismissed by a three-member tribunal led by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu. The tribunal held that the petition contained unsubstantiated allegations, noting that it was devoid of merit and speculative. The wife of Gabon’s ousted president Ali Bongo Ondimba has been charged with “money laundering” and other offences, the public prosecutor said Friday, a month after a coup toppled her husband. Sylvia Bongo Ondimba Valentin was charged by an investigating judge on Thursday, Andre Patrick Roponat announced on state TV channels on Friday. She has been under house arrest in the capital Libreville since the coup in the oil-rich nation on August 30. Her house arrest order has also been upheld, Roponat said. Capt. James Oya, the Media Officer of OPSH disclosed this while addressing newsmen on Friday in Jos. The Benue State Police Command on Thursday rescued six kidnapped victims and arrested four suspects in Agbanor village, Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state. The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has closed a number of plazas around Tejuosho Market in Yaba due to several environmental violations, including illegal disposal of rubbish and trading operations that impede traffic flow.
