Twenty-two people have been killed and scores more are missing following flash floods in the US state of Tennessee. Rescue crews are searching for more than 50 people in rural Humphreys County, which is west of Nashville. The record-breaking flooding began on Saturday, submerging entire roads and taking out telephone and power lines. Emergency workers are searching door-to-door in the worst-hit areas, with rescuers also combing through the debris of homes that were washed away. Media Rights Agenda (MRA) has filed a suit at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja over the failure of the Federal Government of Nigeria to effectively investigate, prosecute and punish perpetrators of the murders of 11 journalists killed between 1998 and 2019, and is asking the court to direct the Government to pay the families of each of the journalists N10 million as reparation. Nine persons have been killed by bandits on Sunday after an attack Ungwan Dooh (Mado) village of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. A resident of the area, Jonathan Ali, revealed that the assailants invaded the town, shot sporadically as residents scampered for safety. At least 12 persons have been confirmed dead and many others injured as over 300 gun-wielding bandits raided Duba community in Batsari LGA of Katsina State on Saturday. According to reports, the assailants (numbering over 300) wielded General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs) and other sophisticated weapons. An Afghan woman has given birth to a baby girl while being evacuated on a US military plane from Afghanistan to Germany on Sunday. The United States Air Force confirmed the incident via twitter. The woman was delivered of her baby shortly after arrival at the airport in Germany.
