A terrible crisis was averted on Saturday when security operatives killed two bandits who were setting a trap for motorists along Lagos-Ibadan expressway. According to a statement by the Ogun state police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command acted on information from members of the public, that hoodlums (about six in number) wielding AK-47s were lurking in the bushes close to the road. Former military governor of Oyo State, Brigadier General Adetunji Idowu Olurin (retd) has passed on at the age of 77. Brig. Gen. Olurin was the military governor of Oyo state between 1985 and 1988. He was the Field Commander of ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia from 1992 to 1993 during the First Liberian Civil War.
