Three people have been reportedly killed in a two-vehicle accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday.

According to the Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident occurred near Sapade in the state of Ogere.

Mr Ahmed Umar, Sector Commander, verified the accident to reporters in Ota, Ogun.

He disclosed that one other individual was injured in the accident.

Umar stated that five people were engaged in the collision between a Nissan automobile with the registration number GH 597 LND and a Mack truck with the registration number SMK 499 XU.

“The survivors are receiving treatment at a hospital here in Ogun State, while two of the dead were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.

“Efforts are ongoing to extricate the third deceased from the wreckage,’’ he said.

He blamed the mishap on a route violation and reckless driving, adding that drivers should not break traffic laws.

Umar also expressed condolences to the deceased’ families and urged them to contact the FRSC Ogbere Command in Ogun State for more information regarding the tragedy.
