    Osimhen, Hakimi named finalist for CAF Player of the Year award

    Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named among the three finalists for the CAF Player of the Year award.

    Osimhen, the Galatasaray forward who won the honor in 2023, will compete with Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool) and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain) for Africa’s top individual prize.

    The Confederation of African Football announced on Sunday evening the shortlist for the prize, which was last won by Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman.

    In the women’s division, Rasheedat Ajibade of Nigeria made the final shortlist.

    She will compete for the honor alongside Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy.

    The CAF Awards 2025 will take place in Rabat, Morocco, on November 19 at 19h00 local time (18h00 GMT).
