President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday flag off his party’s presidential campaign, with supporters of the All Progressives Congress and other Nigerians making their way to Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna State.
Our correspondent noted that the main roads leading to the stadium had been blocked off, while groups of APC supporters started arriving as early as 7am.
Wearing colorful outfits, the supporters were spotted singing and dancing while chanting slogans in Hausa and English, among them “Asiwaju, Uba Sani for Second Term,” “Tinubu Again,” “Tinubu Our Father,” “Speaker Abbas for Tinubu,” and “Tinubu Continuity.”
Several of the supporters wore T-shirts, caps, and hijabs featuring pictures of President Tinubu, APC logos, and images of their state governors, especially those of Kano and Kaduna states.
The rally marks the beginning of the APC’s campaign for the 2027 presidential election, with 31 governors, party leaders, and supporters expected to turn out in large numbers to back Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
In the meantime, our correspondent, who got to the stadium at about 10am, noticed that the seating areas were filled with supporters waiting for the arrival of Tinubu, governors, and other APC leaders.
The main bowl was equally crowded, leaving barely any space to move, while the VIP section stayed mostly empty as party chieftains and dignitaries had not yet arrived.
The mood is vibrant, with supporters in colorful APC-branded shirts, caps, and traditional attire waving party flags, singing, and chanting slogans in support of Tinubu and their various candidates’ re-election bid.
