    Onyeka Onwenu was born on January 17, 1952, in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria.

    Educational Background

    She studied at the University of Ibadan, where she graduated with a BA in International Relations.

    Onwenu’s music career began in the late 1970s. She is known for her soulful voice and her ability to blend traditional African music with contemporary styles.

    Marriage

    In 1984, Onyeka married a Yoruba Muslim, and the union produced two sons, Tijani Ogunlende and Ibrahim Ogunlende. Ibrahim later changed his name to Abraham.
