    Nigeria inflation falls to 11.25% in March

    Nigeria’s consumer inflation stood at 11.25 percent in March, compared with 11.31 percent in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

    A separate food price index showed inflation at 13.45 percent in March, compared with 13.47 percent in February.

    According to Yemi Kale, the Statistician General of the Federation/CEO, Nigerian National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) the inflation dropped to 11.25% in March 2019 year on year from 11.31% in Feb 2019.

    “Food inflation dropped to 13.45% in March 2019 from 13.47% in February 2019 and core inflation dropped to 9.50% in March 2019 from 9.80% in February,” Kale tweeted on Tuesday.

    NBS explained that the National Average Petrol/PMS price at N145.3/ltr in March 2019 compared to N145.3 in February 2019 and N163.4 in March 2018. Highest average price in Yobe (N147.55) & lowest price in Bauchi (N143.89)
