    Ganduje corruption case documents stolen in Kano

    Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has revealed that crucial documents relating to corruption charges against former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje have been stolen from the state high court.

    The incident followed vandalism by hoodlums during recent nationwide protests against hunger and economic hardship.

    Governor Yusuf, who made the disclosure after visiting the damaged court premises for an on-the-spot assessment, described the vandalism as a deliberate and sponsored mission.

    The statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, emphasized the severity of the incident and implied that the acts of vandalism were orchestrated to disrupt the judicial process.

    “The hired miscreants carted away corruption charges documents on former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who has been facing multiple charges before the state High Court.”

    “It is very unfortunate that enemies of Kano State hired undesirable elements to vandalize one of the historic public buildings with a mission of averting corruption charges against the Ag. National Chairman of APC and former governor of the state Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family, and aides,” the statement read.

    The statement added that the miscreants destroyed virtually all units of the court including the office of the state Chief Judge.

    The governor called on youths in the state to desist from being used by detractors to engage in violence, rather they should concentrate on skills acquisition for a better future emphasizing that the government will not relent in securing the lives and property of the people of Kano State.

    He directed the immediate rehabilitation of the building and the deployment of adequate security for effective justice delivery. 

    The governor further call for a thorough investigation to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice, underscoring the need to protect judicial integrity and maintain the rule of law in Kano State.
