The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Abdulmajid Halifa Nazifi before the Kano State High Court over the alleged misappropriation of N34.875 million intended for the purchase of spaghetti from BUA.
Nazifi was arraigned on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, before Justice Musa Karaye on a one-count charge of criminal misappropriation.
According to the charge, the alleged offence occurred between September and October 2024 in Kano State.
The EFCC alleged that N34,875,000 belonging to Fahad Balarabe Adaji was transferred, on Nazifi’s instruction, into the First Bank account of one Muazu Abdullahi for the purchase of IRS spaghetti from BUA.
However, the commission accused Nazifi of knowingly converting the money to his personal use, contrary to Section 308 of the Penal Code Law of Kano State. The charge is punishable under Section 309 of the same law.
Nazifi pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
Following his plea, prosecution counsel Mustapha Maiwada asked the court to fix a trial date and order the defendant’s remand in a correctional facility.
Justice Karaye granted the remand request and adjourned the case until November 2, 2026, for hearing.
