During intense rains in the early hours of Friday, the roof of a recently renovated terminal building at the international airport in New Delhi, India, partially collapsed, leaving one person dead and eight injured, according to rescuers. Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the murder of two people in the state mistaken for armed robbers. This was disclosed in a news release that was signed by Ahmed Wakil, the state command police public relations officer. Following a complaint by one Ibrahim Lado, a resident of Hajiya Amina Lodge Gwallameji, the residents mistook them for armed robbers and responded forcefully, overpowering and injuring them. Britain’s economy recovered from a brief recession in the first quarter with stronger-than-expected growth, according to upwardly revised figures released Friday, boosting embattled Prime Minister Rishi Sunak ahead of next week’s general election.  The Office for National Statistics said that gross domestic product expanded by 0.7% in the first three months of this year, up from the previous estimate of 0.6%.
