Hon. Musiliudeen Akinremi, a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Oyo State, is dead. Although details of his death were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, the lawmaker was said to have died on Wednesday at the age of 51. At least 18 students of the Kwara State University, Malete, on Wednesday escaped death when the vehicle they were travelling in suddenly caught fire while in motion.

No fewer than twelve children were killed in South Africa on Wednesday morning after a minibus transporting them to school near Johannesburg crashed and caught fire after being hit by another vehicle. The Gauteng provincial administration confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday. The driver of the minibus was also murdered, and seven other children were taken to the hospital. It could not immediately provide the ages of the children. Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, has reunited the rescued kidnapped children of Kaduna Judge Janet Gimba with their family.  On June 23, the bandits raided the judge’s home and kidnapped her and her four children. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has rolled out touch sanctions against DisCos that commit infractions capable of inflicting pain on consumers.
