The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued an order requiring all telecom operators in the country to limit the number of tariff plans offered to a maximum of seven.  The NCC has approved new price rules for operators that aim to promote transparency, consumer awareness, and create fair competition among the Commission’s licensees. It has also limited the number of bundles available per operator to 100, emphasising that no subscriber can be on more than one tariff plan at once. Security operatives at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, dispersed protesters and journalists from the facility with gunshots on Saturday. The security personnel targeted protestors and journalists who fled for cover. The demonstrators regrouped after being dispersed by security personnel stationed at the stadium. No fewer than 4,000 churches have been closed down over the last month in Rwanda for failing to comply with health and safety regulations, including not being properly soundproofed. It has primarily affected small Pentecostal churches and a few mosques, some of which operate from caves or on riverbanks. “This is not being done to prevent people from praying but to ensure the safety and tranquilly of worshippers,” Minister of Local Government Jean Claude Musabyimana told state media. No fewer than 32 children have died during student protests that engulfed Bangladesh last month, the UN’s children’s agency has said. The police have vowed to investigate the case of Kelechukwu Orji, a 48-year-old British fugitive who fled the UK to Nigeria after being sentenced to 15 years for rape.  ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, said he will keep reporters updated on the situation.
