Amnesty International has condemned the alleged killing of 13 protesters by security operatives across Nigeria, calling the act “unjustified and unacceptable.”.  Isa Sanusi, the Country Director, stated this in a statement on Friday. “The Nigerian authorities must investigate these incidents impartially and effectively and ensure that security personnel suspected of responsibility for the alleged deadly use of force are held to account through a fair trial,” he said. At least 17 people were feared killed in Abuja, Kano, Niger, Borno, Kaduna, and Jigawa during the #Endbadgovernance protest, which was held across the country on Thursday. Some teenagers protesters protesting economic hardship in Katsina set fire to a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) truck. They protesters also vandalised public properties estimated to be worth millions of naira. Governor Abba Yusuf, the chief executive officer of Kano State, has announced a 24-hour curfew after a rally against economic hardship turned violent. Sunusi Tofa, the governor’s spokeswoman, announced this in a statement on Thursday.
