Troops from Operation Whirl Punch killed five bandits in the Dantarau general area of Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna State.  The troops were on a battle patrol in the Kachia-Kajuru area when they came across the vicious bandits. Nigerians have criticised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following the arrest of no fewer than 127 nightclub goers and the assault of ladies during a raid by operatives of the Commission.  The EFCC raided two nightclubs in Akure, Ondo State, and arrested 127 people suspected of online fraud. The operation, which occurred on June 8, 2024, resulted in the confiscation of a variety of items, including automobiles, laptops, and phones. Nigerian soldiers carrying out Operation UDO KA raided an Indigenous People of Biafra camp in Igboro Forest, Abia State, on Saturday. Nigerians have berated the President Bola Tinubu-led administration for recommending N62,000 as the new minimum wage proposal to the organised labour. Chronicle NG reports that the Federal Government of Nigeria increased its offer of a new national minimum wage to N62,000, while organised labour has reduced its demand from N494,000 to N250,000. The United Nations (UN) has added the Israeli military to a list of offenders failing to protect children, Israel’s ambassador to the UN says. Gilad Erdan, who said he had been notified of the decision on Friday, described the decision as “shameful.”. Nigerian officials have rescued at least ten Nigerian teenage girls, aged 15 to 16, from human trafficking and prostitution.  The girls were allegedly lured to Ghana with the promise of a better life, but were ultimately coerced into prostitution. Three of the victims share the same parents. The suspect, a Nigerian male, was detained and is currently in police custody.
