The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended Fred Ogboji, the Electoral Officer for Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State, for allegedly missing some ballot papers for the ongoing rerun elections for Plateau North Senatorial District and Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency seats. The repeat election in the constituency was characterised by voter apathy and a lack of ballot papers. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended massive consignments of Ghanaian Loud trafficked into Lagos in two trucks and a J5 bus, totaling 14, 524.8 kilogrammes. The students and staff of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure, Ekiti, who were kidnapped have been released. Sunday Abutu, spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed on Sunday morning that the driver had died. The abductees were reportedly released in the early hours of Sunday.
