APC 2023: Delta state expels Omo-Agege from party

The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, has been elected the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta. Omo-Agege, who polled a total of 1,190 votes, was returned unopposed by a total of 1,235 accredited delegates of the party during the primaries held on Thursday in Asaba. The event which was held at the premises of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Asaba, saw Omo-Agege as the sole aspirant in the exercise. Governor Dapo Abiodun has won the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state. Abiodun garnered 1,168 votes to defeat five other contestants who scored zero vote. The defeated five aspirants are Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, Modele Sarafa – Yusuf, Chief Remilekun Bakare, Arc. Owodunni Opayemi and Biyi Otegbeye. They were absent but sent agents to represent them. The Federal High Court, Abuja, has adjourned the alleged pension fraud trial involving former Head of Service of the Federation, Stephen Oronsaye until October 5. At the resumed hearing in the case on Thursday, Oronsaye was cross-examined by the prosecution counsel, Mr Oluwaleke Atolagbe.
