Dr Shamsudeen Dosunmu has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Lagos State. Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said the ongoing party primaries across Nigeria by political parties is heavily monetised and have trappings of a scam. The husband of one of the teachers slain in Tuesday’s mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, has reportedly died of a heart attack. Joe Garcia was the husband of Irma Garcia, who taught for 23 years at Robb Elementary School. Mrs Garcia was one of two teachers killed by a teenage gunman in the shooting that left 21 people dead – including 19 children. The couple – who were married for 24 years – are survived by four children. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the State House Assembly primaries in Nasarawa state over alleged tampering with the authentic list of delegates in the state. Dr John Mamman, Nasarawa state APC Chairman, in a press conference on Friday in Lafia, said the party was sad after discovering that the authentic list of delegates sent the national Secretariat for the party primaries has been tampered with. Twitter investors are suing Elon Musk and the social media platform over the handling of the billionaire’s $44bn (£34.9bn) bid for the company. The case alleges he violated California corporate laws in a number of ways. It accuses the Tesla boss of “wrongful conduct” as his “false statements and market manipulation have created ‘chaos’ at Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco”.
