Three Canadian police officers have been charged in the shooting death of an 18-month-old child in November 2020. The charges were announced following a nearly two year investigation by Ontario police watchdog, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). The boy, Jameson Shapiro, was killed when cops shot at the truck driven by his father following a report of a parental abduction. The police union say they are “fully supporting” the three officers. World Bank Group President David Malpass has backed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the unification of the exchange rate in Nigeria. Malpass noted that a unified exchange rate will significantly improve the ease of doing business and reduce inflation. The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of eight convicts: two siblings and six other internet fraudsters.
