The Police, on Monday, said it had arrested four suspects and neutralised two in connection with the October 23, deadly bank robbery in Otukpo area of Benue. The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said two persons died while eight others were wounded in a crash that involved two vehicles on Idiroko-Ota Road on Sunday night. Anthony Uga, Ogun sector commander of FRSC, who confirmed the crash on Monday in Ota, said the accident happened at about 8:00 p.m. Mr Uga explained that the crash involved a MAN diesel truck with registration number LSR 10 YD and a Toyota Carina with no registration number. The Osun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has urged citizens of the state to join the agency in its efforts to reduce the use of illegal narcotics. Turnout reached an “unprecedented” 66.8 per cent of voters, said authority head Hazem Badawy. The police in Lagos on Monday arraigned Hassan Nurudeen, 20 and Hussien Nurudeen, 20, at a chief magistrates’ court for allegedly assaulting two staff of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC). The defendants, twin brothers, whose addresses are unknown, are standing trial on a three-count charge of assault, malicious damage and attack. The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
