Lagos State Government on Friday stated that worship centres will remain shut until further notice as it continues to contain the spread of coronavirus. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is the Incident Commander declared this at a new briefing at Alausa, Ikeja. The Maiduguri Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, July 2, 2020, secured the conviction of one Lawan Zanna Ajimi before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of Borno State High Court. He was prosecuted on one-count charge of cheating to the tune of N1,250,000.00 (One Million Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira). The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 626 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday. The 626 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 27110. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 649 patients from isolation centers across the country with 13 new deaths reported. Dubai Police has handed Raymond Igbalode Abbas, known as “Hushpuppi” and Olalekan Jacob Ponle aka “Woodberry” to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
