The Department of Justice, US Attorney’s Office, Central District of California has listed the charges against Hushpuppi who was transferred to the US from Dubai. In a statement released on 3 July and titled, “Nigerian National Brought to US to Face Charges of Conspiring to Launder Hundreds of Millions of Dollars from Cybercrime Schemes” the US described Hushpuppi’s case as a “challenging case, one that spanned international boundaries, traditional financial systems and the digital sphere”. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 454 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday. The 454 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 27564. Ramon Olorunwa Abbas a.k.a. Hushpuppi has been charged for trying to defraud an English Premier League club of £100 million (approximately $124 million), according to US prosecutors.
