Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has announced a new citizen-engagement platform, Ask AA, to allow Nigerians to question him directly about his political record, policy proposals and plans for the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The initiative will give voters an opportunity to seek answers on key issues, including the economy, security, job creation, technology and the rising cost of living.
According to a statement by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council, the platform is scheduled to go live at 8.30 pm on Thursday.
How Atiku’s Ask AA Platform Will Work
Under the initiative, Nigerians will be able to submit questions on national development and Atiku’s proposed solutions to some of the country’s pressing challenges.
The former vice-president is expected to respond personally to questions submitted through the platform, with members of his media team also assisting in providing answers.
The campaign says the initiative is designed to create a direct communication channel between Atiku and the electorate, allowing voters to seek clarification on his positions and proposed policies rather than relying solely on campaign statements and public appearances.
Shaibu said the platform was created to make the ADC presidential candidate more accessible to Nigerians and encourage discussions about practical solutions to national challenges.
“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” he said.
Shaibu added that the initiative reflected Atiku’s commitment to using modern technology to make governance more efficient, secure and effective.
Economic Challenges, Security Expected to Feature
The launch comes as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election, with candidates and political parties seeking to communicate their programmes, attract supporters and explain their plans for the country.
Economic pressures, unemployment, insecurity and the rising cost of basic necessities remain prominent issues in public debate.
The Ask AA platform is intended to give Nigerians an avenue to question Atiku about his proposed policies, past political record and plans for addressing these challenges.
However, its effectiveness will depend on how accessible the platform is, the range of questions it accommodates and whether the responses provide specific, verifiable answers.
Questions Remain Over Public Access
The announcement did not specify how questions would be selected, whether every submission would receive an individual response or how frequently Atiku would engage with users after the launch.
Details about the platform’s submission process and the extent of the candidate’s direct participation will help determine how Nigerians can use the initiative to seek answers.
As the 2027 presidential election approaches, Ask AA provides Atiku’s campaign with another channel to communicate his agenda while offering voters an opportunity to raise issues they consider important to the country’s future.
