Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Ikare Akoko in Akoko North East local government area over the violence that rocked the community since Monday over the Olokoja chieftaincy title. The 27 students abducted by bandits from Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, have been released on Wednesday. The school is less than 15 kilometers to the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna. The students were abducted on 12 March and have been with their abductors for 56 days. The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) says its nationwide strike will not be called off until a concrete resolution is reached on financial autonomy.
