A Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), King of Kings parish in Maidan village of Ikosi, Ketu Local government area of Lagos state, has been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen. According to reports, the Pastor Bolanle Ibrahim was gunned down by the hoodlums during a child dedication service. The Department of State Services (DSS) has freed the ‘Buhari-Must-Go’ agitators apprehended at the Dunamis Church headquarters in Abuja. The five protesters – Ben Manasseh, Anene Udoka, Henry Nwodo, Samuel Larry and Samuel Gabriel (the saxophonist) — were apprehended by the DSS on July 4, for wearing shirts with Buhari-Must-Go inscriptions to the church premises. The Federal High Court in Abuja on July 25 directed the DSS to free the agitators. At least eight persons have been confirmed killed by Fulani herdsmen in Mgbuji community, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State. A pregnant woman was reportedly among the victims who were slaughtered. Her stomach was opened and her fetus removed. The assailants also destroyed farmlands in the wake of their mayhem. The Kaduna State Government has stated that no less than 25 people were killed in the attack on four villages in Kauru Local Government Area of the state. Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has dared the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to interview Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi if the truth about the N8 million is to be confirmed. In a Facebook post which he has now deleted, Kyari explained that he dealt with Hushpuppi on professional basis. Media Rights Agenda (MRA) has expreseed its dissatisfaction in the proposed investigation by the Department of State Services (DSS) into the assault on Vanguard newspaper photojournalist, Oluwagbemiga Olamikan, by officials of the agency.
