    25 killed, 63 houses burnt, 68 farms destroyed in Kauru attack

    The Kaduna State Government has stated that no less than 25 people were killed in the attack on four villages in Kauru Local Government Area of the state.

    The attacks on Ungwan Magaji, Kishicho, Kigam and Kikoba villages also recorded the destruction of 68 farms and burning of 63 huts, Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State said on Wednesday.

    He noted that the casualties recorded and properties destroyed in each location are as follows: In Ungwan Magaji the people killed are, “Timothy Auta, Dauda Gabi, Larai Danladi, Johnny Danladi, Chibi Chiwo, Monday Titus, Altine Maza and Dauda Bala.

    Aruwan noted that the total of houses burnt in Ungwan Magaji village were 52 while 37 farms were destroyed.

    Also burnt were two motorcycles, two bicycles and one generator.

    In Kigam, he said four people were killed in the attack, they are Asabe Magani, Gani James, Adamu Kusa and Matthew Ishaya.

    Meanwhile in Kikoba six persons were killed and they are Adamu Kambari, Musa Kambari, Monday Adamu, Mary Adamu, Laraba Adamu and Asabe Musa while Likita Adamu, Friday Yakubu and Danlami Joshua were injured.

    Eleven houses were razed in Kikoba and 31 farms destroyed.

    In Kishicho seven people were killed. They are John Atasha, Sunday Rakun, Chibi Tibeh, Whora Bisai, Laraba Sunday, Lami Sunday and Titi Audu.

    In total, those killed in the attack to 25, with three injured, 68 farms destroyed, and 63 huts burnt.

    “Governor Nasir El-Rufai conveyed his deep condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, as he prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and wished the injured a speedy recovery,” Aruwan said.

    “The Governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency to conduct and urgent assessment of the affected communities.”

    He added that further developments will be communicated to the public.
