Access to safe drinking water still eludes 1 in 4 people – UN

Shell Petroleum Company has been ordered to pay the sum of N45.9 billion to the people of Ogoni in Rivers State. The directive was given to the multinational company by a Federal High Court presided by Justice Ahmed Mohammed on Wednesday who added that the sum must be paid within 21 days. The sum is a cost awarded against the company several years ago for oil spillage in Ogoniland. The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested the quartet of Lucky Ebhogie, Richman Kas Godwin, Israel Justin and Precious Iwuji for internet-related fraud. They were arrested on August 5, 2021 in the Sabo area of Kaduna, Kaduna State following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud activities.
