Two officials of the Nigerian High Commission in London have tested positive for COVID-19. As a result of the latest development, the High Commission has been shut down for the next ten days. A 26-year-old man has been remanded in prison for raping an 11-year-old physically challenged girl in Ondo state. Not less than eleven kidnapped persons have regained their freedom after they escaped their captors’ camp in the outskirts of Sabon Birni town in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The Federal Government Nigeria has received 177,600 doses of Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine which was procured with assistance Afrexim bank through the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT). The single-shot vaccines, which were partly produced in Africa are expected to eliminate the need to vaccinate people twice. This will cut cost of operations and logistics by 50% (approximately), thereby making it easy to deploy in remote areas.
