A former councilor of Sabon Gida ward in Zamfara state has been murdered by unknown gunmen in his residence on Wednesday night. According to reports, the victim, Hon. Farouq Hassan was killed few minutes after he got back home that night. The Kaduna State Government on Thursday said 11 hostages escaped from bandits’ camps as security operations progress in the state. Cross River records new COVID-19 case, activates response team

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases within a 24-hour period. 790 cases of Coronavirus were recorded on Wednesday, which is the highest daily figure recorded since March, 2021. The latest development was announced by the national health agency on Thursday morning. According to the report by NCDC, the infections were recorded in 13 states of the federation including Abuja.
