A group of gunmen have reportedly killed an Imam and 10 other persons at Mamande village in Gwadabawa local government of Sokoto State. The assailants believed to be the outlawed vigilante group – Yan Sakai, stormed the community at about 3:30pm on Thursday. An SS3 student has been arrested in Abia state for masterminding his own kidnap to extort his mother. The 17-year-old suspect, a native of Isiala-Ngwa North Local Government Area, said that he decided to fake his own abduction because his mother, Mrs Rose Nwatu was ‘stingy’ to him.
