The attack by members of the Boko Haram on Maiduguri was successfully repelled, the Army said on Wednesday evening. PREMIUM TIMES reported the attack on the Jiddari Polo area of the city, a few kilometres from the elite Government Residential Area, GRA. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday announced the registration of five new political parties ahead of the 2019 general elections. Adedeji Soyebi, INEC’s Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, made the disclosure at the end of the commission’s meeting in Kaduna. “At present, 95 associations have applied to the commission for registration as political parties.
