Nigerian pop singer, Dammy Krane, has been released from a United States jail. The singer was released after meeting his bail conditions set at $7,500. According to an update from the Miami-Dade County Criminal Justice Online System, Krane, who was earlier arrested for credit card fraud, pleaded not guilty to the charges and demanded a trial by jury. He also demanded the option of a waiver pre-trial conference. Following his appeal, the court has fixed Krane’s hearing for June 23, 2017

One person died while 18 others were injured on Wednesday in an accident involving 19 persons on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The Federal Ministry of Finance says N375.8 million has been paid to 20 providers of information under the Whistleblower Policy. The Director of Information, Mr Salisu Dambatta in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, said that payment was related to the recovery of N11.6 billion. Dambatta explained that the payment was only for recovered assets that had been declared free of legal disputes or litigation by the Attorney-General of the Federation.
