The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, is set to suspend six telecommunications operators following their involvement in call masking and refilling, despite repeated warnings. NCC said it just concluded its investigation on call masking and refilling and discovered that six telecoms operators were involved in the illegal act that poses a national security risk and threat to the Nigerian economy, and described the act as an offence punishable by law. A former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Dahiru Musdapher, has died. Mr. Musdapher died in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 75. The cause of his death was not immediately clear but family members took to social media to break the news. “My elder brother Justice Dahiru Musdapher former CJN passed on tonight,” Muneer Musdapher, a younger brother of the former CJN wrote on Facebook. The Central Bank of Nigeria said on Monday it had injected $210 million into the interbank foreign exchange market, extending efforts to boost liquidity and alleviate dollar shortages. The bank said in a statement it had released $100 million earmarked for the wholesale market, $55 million for small businesses and individuals, and $55 million for certain dollar expenses such as school fees and medical bills. The United States has approved controversial tariffs on imported washing machines and solar panels. The move is in line with President Donald Trump’s “America First” trade policy, which aims to protect local manufacturers from foreign competition.
