Former Ghana, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol Rovers striker Junior Agogo has died, aged 40. According to Skysports, Agogo, who played 27 times for Ghana, scoring 11 goals, began his career with Sheffield Wednesday but left to play in the United States after making just two appearances for the Owls. He returned to England with Queens Parks Rangers in 2002, before going on to play for Brentford. Agogo is best known for his time at Bristol Rovers where he scored 40 goals in three seasons. An Uber driver, Richmond Temple, who was allegedly in possession of N12 million worth of church equipment, on Thursday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State. Israeli troops in the Golan Heights fired at an Israeli civilian aircraft on Wednesday night, having misidentified it as a hostile plane which they thought had infiltrated from Syria. An army spokeswoman told dpa on Thursday that the troops, believing that the aircraft posed an imminent threat, fired at it until they realized it was an Israeli aircraft. No injuries were reported. Enugu State Police Command says it has re-arrested Gideon Balogun, a prisoner that escaped from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) in Enugu in 2017. The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement on Thursday said Balogun, who hailed from Edo, was re-arrested on Aug. 21, in Emene, an outskirt of Enugu metropolis. Two Local Government Areas of Gubio and Magumeri in Northern Borno Senatorial District are currently under the control of Boko Haram when the insurgents in their large number launched a coordinated attack on the communities beginning from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning without confrontation.
