An American online publisher focusing on the tech industry, TechCrunch, has revealed that a whopping five million emails were sent within 10 days by a group of 80 Internet scammers who were rounded up in an earth-shaking clampdown on fraudsters in the United States on Thursday. The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) says the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has acknowledged that it didn’t remit N77.92 billion to the federation account in 2017. In a statement released on Thursday to announce the release of a pilot study that focused on the sale of Nigeria’s share of crude oil and gas produced in 2017, NEITI said a total of $14.5 billion was realised from the sale of the federation’s share of oil and gas for 2017. An auto-crash on Thursday at Bacita junction, on Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa expressway in Kwara, has killed 17 people. NAN reports the accident involved an 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus and an articulated DAF trunk carrying container. An eyewitness account revealed that the accident was due to speeding and dangerous driving as the two vehicles had head-on collision at a bend along the highway.
