In furtherance of Nigeria’s Global Food Basket goal initiated by the Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, NIRSAL’s MD/CEO, Aliyu Abdulhameed on Wednesday had a special meeting with the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) which he said was in furtherance of Nigeria’s multilevel engagement with Germany to tap financial, intellectual and technological capacities crucial for the development of Nigeria’s Agribusiness Sector.

Aliyu disclosed this information on his tweet on Wednesday.

He said ”Following German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Nigeria, and the subsequent visit of @ProfOsinbajo to Germany, of which NIRSAL’s MD/CEO  @aliyu_hameed
actively participated, NIRSAL is taking steps to ensure that the economic cooperation between the two nations is deepened.

”To this end, NIRSAL as part of its Nigerian- German Agribusiness Alliance Forum led members of the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) on a visit to @ProfOsinbajo
to inform him on the progress being made in channelling capital into Nigerian Agribusiness.

‘@ProfOsinbajo was highly impressed at NIRSAL’s proactiveness and commended both parties while encouraging them to come up with positive outcomes that will produce broad-based prosperity and diversified inclusive economic growth”.

You would recall that Osinbajo while receiving a delegation of Chinese investors and officials from the African Development Bank (AFDB) had said that Nigeria en-routes to becoming a Global Food Basket upon which the whole world will feed from. This he said in line with its commitment to develop a thriving agribusiness in Nigeria.
