The Governor of Edo state,  Godwin Obaseki said the nation lost about 22 million barrels of its crude oil production to oil theft between January and June 2019. A genetic analysis of almost half a million people has concluded there is no single “gay gene”. The study, published in Science, used data from the UK Biobank and 23andMe, and found some genetic variants associated with same-sex relationships. But genetic factors accounted for, at most, 25% of same-sex behaviour. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has warned Nigerians that using sub-standard telecom devices could adversely affect their health. Prof. Umar Danbatta, NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, said at a sensitisation workshop for stakeholders that using sub-standard and counterfeit telecom devices was dangerous to human health and safety. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi on Thursday emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 16 governorship election.
